At The Saddler's Technique, we understand the importance of proper saddle fit for horse comfort and well-being. Our Western Saddle Fitting Weekend Course is designed specifically for equine professionals such as veterinarians, trainers, and English saddle fitters, looking to enhance their knowledge and skills regarding western saddles. Our training program covers topics such as saddle anatomy, saddle fitting techniques, and the identification of common saddle fit problems. We aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of saddle fit and the importance of horse comfort. With our hands-on approach, you will learn how to assess saddle fit problems and take the necessary steps to correct them.
Course Information
Western & Treeless Saddle Fitting Course for Equine Specialists aims to teach vets, equine bodywork professionals, English saddle fitters, and trainers, a comprehensive overview of how to recognise poor saddle fit, what to do, and also about cinches and padding, and where they can and can't help.
This course is designed to give the Equine Professional knowledge to educate their clients, and to help ascertain whether back issues are being caused by saddle, pad, or something else.

At the end of this course you should be able to identify a well-fitting and poorly fitting western saddle and know which pads and cinches help the horse stay more comfortable, and those that don’t and why. The modules are:

Evaluating the Saddle - No Rider

Evaluating the Saddle - With Rider
This course will be run over 1 weekend. The course will be run either in the New Forest, Hampshire or in Somerset, UK.
